With less than a week to go until we leave for Muncie, more practice is needed, really cant argue with the turn out at the field either was great couldnt ask for better!! ^.^

Fall Flying

My 2010 season is over! I must say for myself that i got many things achieved, flew in my first Nats, first F3A contest in Crowley, ect. and for that i have to thank some people, YS, morgan fuels and of course Dad.

Fall Flying has started and the countdown to the 2011 worlds has started for me, the weather kind of sucks recently really windy so i have to pick and choose my days when i want to fly and really make good use of the time i have.

I think i have approximately 30-40 flights on my 170 CDI and i took me a while to get the idle set since i was so used to glow, it me sounds like the motor is idling really low but believe me it can go a lot lower. Once i tackled that stall turns, spins and definitely landings were so much easier! I currently run 30% Low Smoke Cool Power and i am really impressed with the performance of the motor all around, no need to go full power depending on your flying style i rarely do, i haven't tried any of the other props except for the 19x11, and that prop with my idle setting you have so much time in down-lines you can really set yourself up for the next maneuver or whatever your next obsticle is.

3 Flights on her today and i am very pleased, Way better than i expected! and everything seemed to work right. got the basic trimming down today (straight and level, and Knife Edge) and cant wait to get it out again!

Houston Air Show

October 31st,

I sacrificed a day of flying to go and see this show, and surprisingly it was worth while the featured guest were the Blue Angles...My camera died on me 3/4 way through the show so i didn't get any pics, :( sorry... there were some R/C pilots there i think from 3 or 4 different clubs not sure which one to be honest. sadly to say the only thing the crowd would remember from the demo is a flying Lawnmower...WTF!? the war-bird flying was pretty cool but for me the show was a solo by a F-15 Pilot. Gene Soucy put on a pretty good show too with his modded bipe haven't a clue what it was..

Cajun Nationals

Lets see... the Cajun Nats, honestly has to be one of the best contest i took part in so far. Thanks to everyone who helped make this weekend what it was. Great turn out, GREAT FOOD!, hospitality ect, ect. 33 pilots, 5 sportsman and intermediate, 12 advanced, 5 masters and 6 FAI.

Congrats to all the winners!

Also some "father, son" teams showed up and some what made it a family event.

Great weekend to relax with the family. Definitely making this one next year!
